Biblical Context
The verse speaks of a middle bar running through the boards from end to end. It points to an inner principle that holds all parts of life in unity.
Neville's Inner Vision
Exodus 36:33 presents a simple wooden picture: a middle bar running from one side of the boards to the other. In the inner sense, these boards are the many facets of your life, the outward forms that seem to divide you. The bar, though, is an inner axis of awareness—the I AM—that runs through every board from end to end, holding the whole temple in a single frame. This is the Presence of God you seek, not as a distant event but as the unity of consciousness that you are. Holiness is not a ritual separate from you; it is the condition of your attention when you allow the I AM to pass freely through every part of you, including the most ordinary thoughts and feelings. Separation dissolves as you acknowledge that the same I AM threads through all scenes. True worship emerges when you live as that unifying consciousness, seeing through appearances and feeling the one Life animating all.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly and imagine a middle bar running through every board of your life, uniting your thoughts, feelings, and circumstances. Rest in the sense of that wholeness, letting the I AM feel real in the body and in each moment.
