Exodus 33:4-5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Exodus 33 in context

Scripture Focus

4And when the people heard these evil tidings, they mourned: and no man did put on him his ornaments.
5For the LORD had said unto Moses, Say unto the children of Israel, Ye are a stiffnecked people: I will come up into the midst of thee in a moment, and consume thee: therefore now put off thy ornaments from thee, that I may know what to do unto thee.
Exodus 33:4-5

Biblical Context

The people mourn upon hearing judgment and are told to lay aside their ornaments, signaling humility; God will come among them, and they must remove outward adornments to know how to proceed.

Neville's Inner Vision

To the seeker, the 'evil tidings' are inner misalignment revealed to consciousness. The stiff-necked stance is a state of resistance in awareness; mourning is the softening of that resistance. The ornaments symbolize attachments by which you clothe separation from God. When you lay them aside in imagination, you invite the I AM to enter your inner camp. The presence of God is not a threat but the clarifying light of consciousness: as you align with the I AM, judgments melt and your world responds from wholeness rather than fear. This is not punishment but a revision of your assumed state.

Practice This Now

Assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled: I AM present now. Close your eyes, picture taking off your ornaments of attachment, and feel the space filled with divine presence.
