Biblical Context
Exodus 31:12-13 commands keeping the Sabbath as a sign between God and Israel, so they may know that the LORD sanctifies them.
Neville's Inner Vision
To Neville, the Sabbath is not a calendar moment but a state of consciousness—an inner pause in which the I AM stands sovereign. When you keep the Sabbath, you are not marking time; you are affirming the sign between God and you: awareness resting in divine order. The LORD sanctifies you is understood as a realization inside: you are the I AM, and by resting in that fact you are sanctified. The Sabbath thus becomes inner covenant loyalty—a discipline of allowing consciousness to govern your life rather than reaction. If anxiety or bustle arise, revise your stance: 'I rest in God now; I am sanctified by the LORD within me.' Feel that truth until it floods the body with quiet assurance. As you dwell in this inner space, your thoughts and circumstances follow the new state, slowly rearranged to reflect the sanctifying presence you claim. The sign is kept by your moment of stillness, your certainty that God is within, and your life becomes the outward proof of that inward sign.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, assume the I AM as the resting, sanctifying Presence. Say aloud, 'I am sanctified by the LORD within me,' and feel the certainty settling into your chest.
