Biblical Context
Exodus 30:6 instructs setting the incense altar before the veil by the ark, facing the mercy seat, where God will meet with you.
Neville's Inner Vision
Beloved, consider the incense altar set before the veil as your invitation to conscious attention. The ark of the testimony is the inner memory of truth you carry; the mercy seat is the mercy you grant to your own awakening by remaining loyal to the I AM. When you imagine the fragrant prayer rising to the veil, you are practicing worship as a state of consciousness, not a distant rite. The meeting place is not somewhere outside you, but the moment your awareness says, 'I am here; I am one with the I AM.' In this alignment, the I AM answers in your thoughts, feelings, and circumstances in exact proportion to your fidelity to that inner state. Thus, the altar and veil dramatize a simple practice: assume the truth of your oneness, feel the reality of God in you, and revise any sense of separation until your world reflects the inner meeting you have established.
Practice This Now
Practice: Sit quietly, breathe, and place your attention before the inner veil. Assume you are already in the presence of the I AM; feel the mercy of your own loyalty to that state and let it bloom into your day.
