Inner Fragrance Sacred Boundaries

Exodus 30:37-38 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Exodus 30 in context

Scripture Focus

37And as for the perfume which thou shalt make, ye shall not make to yourselves according to the composition thereof: it shall be unto thee holy for the LORD.
38Whosoever shall make like unto that, to smell thereto, shall even be cut off from his people.
Exodus 30:37-38

Biblical Context

The verse enforces that the sacred incense recipe cannot be copied; it is set apart for the LORD, and anyone imitating it is cut off from the people.

Neville's Inner Vision

All narrative of incense is but a symbol of a state of consciousness. The perfume Exodus 30:37-38 points to a boundary line: holiness is not a recipe to be copied, but a state I AM creates. When you imagine you are the I AM, you perceive that the fragrance of worship arises from within and cannot be manufactured by external formulas. To imitate the outward aroma is to forget the source of sanctity in your own consciousness. The prohibition becomes an invitation to align with a single, sacred awareness that you embody, not something you acquire. If you dwell in the conviction that you are holy unto the LORD (your own being), you disengage from the habit of seeking purity in objects and ceremonies. Your true worship is the daily acknowledging of the I AM as the governing power, the inner sanctum where all impressions are invited to be lifted. In that light, the boundary line is not punishment but a reminder: return to your inner fragrance and let it consecrate your life.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume, 'I am holy unto the LORD of my being.' Feel the inner fragrance rising; revise any urge to imitate another’s rite, and dwell in the I AM as your sole worship.
