Biblical Context
Exodus 29:15-17 describes a ram being identified with, slain, its blood sprinkled on the altar, and its pieces washed and prepared. Symbolically, it points to inner purification through surrender and reintegration.
Neville's Inner Vision
Beloved, the ram is your inner nature—an unformed potential you must claim. When you place your hands on the ram’s head, you choose to identify with the higher I AM within. Slaying the ram is the moment you let go of the old self-image and its fears; the blood sprinkled around the altar is the life-force circulating in your present awareness, sealing the new state. The cutting and washing of its parts symbolize exposing hidden beliefs to the light of renewed consciousness, so they can be re-scripted. By reassembling these parts on the altar, you bring forth a purified personality that serves the divine idea you hold. This is true worship: a shift in inner state that alters your experience of life. The sacrifice is the ongoing letting go of what no longer serves your creative power.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly, place your hands on the head of your inner ram, and declare: I AM the higher self here and now. Visualize life-blood of vitality sprinkling your inner altar, then release old beliefs and reassemble yourself as the elevated state you intend to live.
