Biblical Context
Exodus 23:27-30 speaks of a gradual conquest. Fear guides the movement, and what looks like enemies retreats as your inner state rises, until the land of your life expands.
Neville's Inner Vision
Beloved, the text speaks to your present consciousness. The fear that walks before you is not your enemy but a pointer to the belief that you still inhabit a lesser state. When I say, I will send my fear before thee, I affirm that in your next forward march the inner atmosphere is cleared by the very sensation of caution, reverence, and anticipation. The so-called enemies—the Hivite, the Canaanite, the Hittite—are simply the stubborn habits, memories, and identifications your mind clings to. I will drive them out by the hornets: these are the precise, directed assumptions and feeling of inevitability that push out the old forms. They come not all at once; the land must not be desolated by a sudden collapse of your inner world. By little and little I will drive them out from before thee until thou be increased, and inherit the land. The land is your inner kingdom, your lived world when your awareness remains fixed in the I AM and your imagination is trusted to reform the seen.
Practice This Now
Choose a current obstacle and revise your state to I am the land already inherited. Close your eyes, feel the emotion of completion, and allow the vision to expand into your day.
