Exodus 22:18-20 Inner Law
Exodus 22:18-20 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Exodus 22 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The text sets an outer standard: reject witchcraft, bestial acts, and idolatry as disqualifying. It points to the necessity of exclusive devotion to the LORD.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within these lines lies a teaching about your inner kingdom. The 'witch' represents a belief in separation from the I AM, a thought that would have you dwell in fear or misrule. The 'beast' is any unchecked passion that pretends to govern your life, while the 'gods' are counterfeit images you have worshiped in place of the true Lord—your own awareness. The command to worship the LORD alone signals an awakening: your center is the I AM, the living consciousness that cannot divide. To live by this law is not to punish others but to disown the inward split that says you are a thing among many powers. When you align with the one reality you are, the sense of separation dissolves, and what was cast out is only the old belief that you are other than God. The outer statute then becomes an inner certainty: you worship no other image, for you are the only power in your life, the I AM.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the I AM as your only Lord; declare, 'I worship no other image.' Feel the belief in separation dissolve as you revise through the felt sense of unity.
