Earth Altar and Blessing Presence

Exodus 20:24 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Exodus 20 in context

Scripture Focus

24An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee.
Exodus 20:24

Biblical Context

Exodus 20:24 tells you to build an altar of earth and offer offerings; wherever God records His name, He promises to come and bless.

Neville's Inner Vision

Exodus 20:24 is not asking you to build a stone temple; it invites you to erect an altar in consciousness. The earth in the text represents humility and receptivity—the raw, unadorned mind ready to worship in spirit and truth. Your offerings are your states of consciousness: gratitude, trust, patience, forgiveness, steadfast attention to your I AM. When you record God’s name—your true self, your present awareness—in that sacred feeling, a lively presence comes near. Not a distant rumor, but the reality of I AM here and now. The blessing then follows as a natural result of that worship: grace shows up in your affairs because you have given your attention to the one I AM that you are. The altar is portable, for you carry it wherever you are, and the blessing follows your inner condition. Remember, the 'places where I record my name' are the places of your constant awareness, your field of identity. The promise is constant: wherever you persist in naming the presence and living from it, God comes and blesses. So you do not seek; you assume and dwell as the blessing you seek.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Assume you stand before an altar in your mind. Feel the I AM presence here and now, and let blessing stream into your life as you dwell in that awareness.
