Biblical Context
God commands Moses to sanctify the people, have them wash their clothes, and set bounds so no one touches the mountain until the third day. On that day, the Presence of the Lord will appear.
Neville's Inner Vision
Here the story reveals a state of readiness, not a distant ritual. The 'people' are inner states of consciousness; the 'mount' is the height of awareness you are about to enter, and the boundaries are the disciplines of attention that keep your I AM intact. When God tells Moses to sanctify and to wash, He is saying: cleanse your habitual thoughts and feelings, rinse away the old identifications, and clothe your consciousness in purity so you can meet God face to face. The third day represents a decisive moment when your inner atmosphere shifts into a new dominion; the trumpet and the warning not to approach the border mirror the necessity of focused, undistracted awareness. The act of Moses sanctifying the people mirrors your own revision of your belief system—perception precedes occurrence, and loyalty to the covenant is loyalty to your true self. When you hold to the inner boundaries and maintain purity of intention, the Presence—your I AM—descends into your life as experienced reality.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly and declare, 'I am the Presence now.' Visualize washing away a lingering belief and set a mental boundary that no stray thought crosses until you feel the Presence settling within you.
