Biblical Context
Jethro arrives with Moses' wife Zipporah and their two sons, Gershom and Eliezer, reuniting Moses with his family at the wilderness encampment near the mount of God.
Neville's Inner Vision
Consider the scene as a revelation of your own consciousness. Jethro's arrival is the moment your inner self gathers the scattered parts—the wife and the two sons—back into the center of attention where you stand before the Mount of God. Gershom, 'I have been an alien in a strange land,' speaks of the felt estrangement from your true home in I AM; Eliezer, 'the God of my father was my help,' is the memory of divine aid that has always steadied you. When Jethro declares his welcome, he offers the outer world as the mirror of the inner alignment; the mount becomes your present awareness, the dwelling place of God within. The presence of God is not distant; it is the recognized power that delivers you from fear and abandonment. In this light, exile dissolves, and reunion is imagined into being. Enter this state now: assume the feeling that your entire lineage—your faculties and loves—are back at the Mount of God, and dwell there in gratitude, knowing the I AM is your constant helper.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and imagine Jethro arriving with Zipporah and the two sons, entering the wilderness of your mind at the Mount of God. Feel the reunion as if it is already true, and affirm I AM is my help, bringing all parts back into unity.
