Inner Judge Within Exodus

Exodus 18:15-16 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Exodus 18 in context

Scripture Focus

15And Moses said unto his father in law, Because the people come unto me to enquire of God:
16When they have a matter, they come unto me; and I judge between one and another, and I do make them know the statutes of God, and his laws.
Exodus 18:15-16

Biblical Context

People seek guidance from Moses; he judges matters and makes them know the statutes and laws of God.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within you, there is a Moses who stands as the mediator between the many voices of your mind and the one Law of God. When thoughts clash, these voices come to you to inquire of the Living God within. Your inner Moses listens, weighs the matter, and then proclaims the statutes of God — universal laws such as justice, mercy, and order — that govern the situation. To judge between one and another is to choose in harmony with the divine principle, not with personal preference. The effect is to make them know the laws by impressing them upon your subjective awareness: in this moment, the law is that truth and right action arise from alignment with the I AM, not from external authority. Thus, the act of ruling is a revelation of your own inner constitution. The mind quiets, and the world reflects that inner alignment. Remember: you are not appealing to God outside but to the I AM within; the statutes you reveal are the inner commandments by which you live.

Practice This Now

In a quiet moment, assume the role of your inner Moses and inquire, what is the statute of God here? Then revise your thought to match that inner law and feel it real as peace settles.
