Biblical Context
Exodus 17:8 records Amalek attacking Israel at Rephidim; in Neville's view this is a clash within the mind, where inner resistance arises against a state of ready, inner provision.
Neville's Inner Vision
On the level of your inner being, Amalek’s attack is not a distant army but a belief that you lack, that your good is not already given. Israel stands for your awakened I AM, keenly aware at Rephidim—the inner stage where thirst and doubt arise as you step toward the promised fulfillment. The battle is mental: the old story of deficiency seeking to impose itself against the new state you silently assume. Yet the I AM does not fight; it simply remains conscious and undisturbed, and imagination is the lever by which you shift the seen world. When Amalek presses, you do not outrun him with effort but invite a new feeling-state: the conviction that right now you are complete, that all provision flows from the inner awareness you inhabit. As you persist in that inner assumption, the external fighting loses its traction and becomes a signpost that your reality is a consciousness in movement, always responsive to your inner decree. The victory is not out there; it is you affirming the truth of your own being.
Practice This Now
Assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled in the moment of opposition and let the I AM anchor you; if doubt returns, revise and re-enter the state until it feels inevitable.
