Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
God provides water from the rock after Moses follows divine instruction. The episode is named Massah and Meribah for the people's testing of the LORD.
Neville's Inner Vision
Exodus 17:5-7 invites us to awaken to the truth that the miracle is a state of consciousness. The rock is not a stone in a wilderness, but your fixed mental disposition, an inner landscape where you still seek proof. When the Lord says, I will stand before thee, that is the assurance of your I AM, the very awareness that can appear as water when you strike the rock with the rod of attention. Moses obeys, not to appease a distant deity, but to demonstrate your power to effect through disciplined thought. The water that flows forth is your consciousness circulating through your body and life, quenching your sense of limitation. Massah and Meribah mark the moment you doubt: Is the LORD among us or not? In Neville’s light, that question dissolves as you revise the scene inwardly until the sense of lack vanishes and you feel the present, abundant I AM. Trust, then, becomes not a hope but a remembered identity, the I AM acting as your own living source.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Close your eyes and assume the presence of the I AM as your immediate reality. Picture the rock within, strike with the rod of attention, and feel water of abundance flowing through you.
