Whispers to the I AM

Exodus 16:8 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Exodus 16 in context

Scripture Focus

8And Moses said, This shall be, when the LORD shall give you in the evening flesh to eat, and in the morning bread to the full; for that the LORD heareth your murmurings which ye murmur against him: and what are we? your murmurings are not against us, but against the LORD.
Exodus 16:8

Biblical Context

Moses explains that God will provide meat in the evening and bread in the morning, and that the people's murmurings are heard by the LORD, directed at the LORD rather than at Moses.

Neville's Inner Vision

Exodus 16:8 is not about food but about your inner state. The murmuring is your belief in lack taking hold in consciousness. Moses stands for the higher self, yet the real deity is the I AM within you, the one who hears your streams of thought. When you murmur you are affirming that the I AM is withholding, yet the message shows those murmurs are directed at the LORD your own divine nature. The verse invites you to revise the scene by imagining the I AM already supplying your needs, in the evening and in the morning, so the feast of imagination becomes daily bread. The flesh of the evening speaks of satisfactions you feel when you accept a provision you have imagined; the morning bread is the steady nourishment of belief that never fails. In the present moment declare that I AM the LORD providing now. In that inward posture you fulfill the promise before the event and your outer world follows suit.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled as already yours. See the feast prepared in your inner kitchen and let the sense of I AM providing now sink into your body.
