Biblical Context
Exodus 16:21 describes gathering manna each morning, with any leftover nourishment melting when the sun grows hot. It invites daily attention to the inner state you claim, or the provision will melt away.
Neville's Inner Vision
Think of the manna as a state you assume for the day. They gathered it every morning, each man according to his eating—so you must decide what you intend to eat in consciousness and claim it now. The sun waxing hot is the outward heat of circumstance, the old form that would melt any state not acknowledged as real. If you do not hold your assumption, the manna dissolves into yesterday and you are left with hunger. Therefore, dwell in the I AM, declare, 'Provision is mine now,' and feel it as present sensation. Providence does not reach out to you; it responds to your inner alignment. Your obedience and faithfulness are inward disciplines: persist in the state you choose, even when appearances fan the doubt. As you practice morning assumption, you become the gatherer and the bread; the world adjusts to your inner tone. In this way, daily manna becomes the proof that your inner life shapes every outward meal.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: This morning, sit 5 minutes, close your eyes, and repeat silently, 'I am provision; I am the I AM.' Then momentarily feel the sensation of warm bread filling you from within, and carry that feeling through the day.
