Inner Pursuit and Deliverance
Exodus 14:5-9 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Pharaoh learns that the people fled, mobilizes chariots, and pursues them to the sea. The scene marks how an old power presses in as a new consciousness prepares for deliverance.
Neville's Inner Vision
Here the Pharaoh is not a distant king but the stubborn voice of an old self clinging to the idea of control. When you declare freedom, the mind may move in a rapid, outward chase - proof that the old nature still gathers its forces. The sea before you is the subconscious's vast potential, and the encamped Israelites are the clear intention toward a new way of being. The verse does not say God sends the pursuer to punish; it shows that the 'heart' of the old self hardens as you awaken, and yet your awareness remains the I AM, untouched by fear. The action army rushing toward you is simply your beliefs in need of revision. Your task is not to fight them but to stand in the one power: I AM. When you do, the inner movement shifts; the high hand you once took becomes confident stillness. Soon, the old pursuit loses its force, the barrier of the sea becomes a threshold, and you emerge in the freedom that was always your true state.
Practice This Now
Assume the state I AM free now, and feel the old pursuit fade. Visualize stepping through the parted sea into your true liberty, as if it were already done.
