Read Exodus 14 in context

Scripture Focus

31And Israel saw that great work which the LORD did upon the Egyptians: and the people feared the LORD, and believed the LORD, and his servant Moses.
Exodus 14:31

Biblical Context

Israel witnessed the LORD's mighty deliverance and, in response, feared the LORD, believed the LORD, and trusted Moses.

Neville's Inner Vision

Think of the nation as a state of consciousness, not a historical crowd. The 'great work' is the inner turning of your sea—your fear—into a clear path of awareness. When Israel saw the LORD’s deliverance of the Egyptians, they did not praise a miracle alone; they relabeled their experience in terms of their relationship to God. Fear yielded to reverence, and reverence transformed into belief: belief in the LORD as the I AM within, and in the guide within called Moses, your inner voice of truth. The external act reflects an inner decision: you choose to trust the current motion of God within you rather than the old fear. Crossing the sea is the moment consciousness passes from a former condition to a new, empowered state. Your present awareness is the sea; when you align with the I AM, the waves part in your imagination, and you walk forward with steadiness. The miracle you witness is the evidence of your own awakening.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Assume you have already crossed your sea by aligning with the I AM. Feel the fear dissolve as strength and trust arise, and dwell in that belief for the next 5 minutes.
