Biblical Context
Exodus 14:30 records God saving Israel from the Egyptians, and the people witness the Egyptians' dead bodies on the sea shore.
Neville's Inner Vision
To the inner seeker, this scene is not a geographical event but a movement of consciousness. 'Israel' is your state of awareness set free from the belief in separation; 'the Egyptians' are fear-based thoughts that have harried you with the illusion of power outside you. The sea is the liminal space where those thoughts are dissolved, and the wind and waters obey the I AM within you. When God saved Israel that day, it is your recognition that your I AM asserts dominance over the dream of bondage. The sight of the Egyptians dead on the shore is the moment you behold the end of that belief—the signs of their control are washed away, and you stand in the truth that no external force can truly harm you when you awaken to your own consciousness. In Neville's terms, the deliverance is a present realization: you are not trying to conquer, you are realizing you never were conquered. The old story dies so a new, fearless self can live.
Practice This Now
Assume the feeling 'I am saved now' and revise the old fear-based memories; in that feeling, picture the sea washing away the Egyptians and rest in the liberty of your present awareness.
