Read Exodus 13 in context

Scripture Focus

8And thou shalt shew thy son in that day, saying, This is done because of that which the LORD did unto me when I came forth out of Egypt.
9And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thine hand, and for a memorial between thine eyes, that the LORD's law may be in thy mouth: for with a strong hand hath the LORD brought thee out of Egypt.
Exodus 13:8-9

Biblical Context

Exodus 13:8-9 instructs parents to tell their child that this is done because of the LORD’s deliverance from Egypt, and to make the LORD’s law a visible sign on the hand and a memory between the eyes so it remains in the mouth.

Neville's Inner Vision

Read as states of consciousness, the 'deliverance from Egypt' is your waking to awareness—the strong hand of the I AM lifting you from bondage into liberty. The sign on the hand becomes outward acts that express your inner decision; the memory between the eyes is the constant mental image you keep in the inner gaze. The LORD’s law living in your mouth means your words arise from truth rather than fear. To practice, assume you are already free and speak from that state as if proclaiming a lasting truth. Keep a mental sign and a memory before your eyes as you move through the day, feeling the reality of deliverance in every breath. With steady feeling, your world will align with the inner law you hold.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the feeling: ‘I am delivered.’ See a sign on your hand and a memory between your eyes; then declare, ‘The LORD’s law is in my mouth, for I am free.’
