Exodus 13:8-10 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Exodus 13 in context

Scripture Focus

8And thou shalt shew thy son in that day, saying, This is done because of that which the LORD did unto me when I came forth out of Egypt.
9And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thine hand, and for a memorial between thine eyes, that the LORD's law may be in thy mouth: for with a strong hand hath the LORD brought thee out of Egypt.
10Thou shalt therefore keep this ordinance in his season from year to year.
Exodus 13:8-10

Biblical Context

This passage commands teaching the child the reason for liberation from Egypt and keeping the divine law visible in daily life as a covenant reminder.

Neville's Inner Vision

Exodus 13:8-10 reads as a map for the awakening of consciousness. I tell my son that the escape from bondage was wrought by the LORD through an inner act, not by outward force alone. In this view, Egypt is the stubborn state of mind, and the exodus is the moment when I awaken to the I AM. The sign on the hand and the memorial between the eyes become my outward deeds and inner gaze, the outer action and the inner memory by which I remind myself of the governing law. When the law is in my mouth, I speak from the divine arrangement; my thoughts, words, and deeds align with the order of my being. The strong hand of the LORD that brought me out is the unyielding power of awareness that carries me beyond limitation whenever I acknowledge it. The annual keeping of the ordinance is not ritual bondage but a return to this awareness—teaching my inner child that liberation is present now as I live in harmony with the I AM.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Assume I am delivered now by the I AM, envision a small sign on my hand and a steady memory between my eyes, and softly repeat the affirmation until it feels real.
