Biblical Context
The passage instructs teaching the next generation that deliverance came by the LORD's strength. It also sets memory in signs and rites to commemorate liberation and the redemption of the firstborn.
Neville's Inner Vision
Behold, this text is a map for waking from the dream of bondage. Egypt is the state of consciousness where you still believe you are bound. When your inner 'son' asks, 'What is this?' the I AM within answers with a memory of a decisive act of power: by strength of hand the LORD brought us forth. That power is not an external event but the active presence of consciousness cutting through fear and the old story. Pharaoh's stubbornness represents the stubborn habit of the old self; the LORD slaying the firstborn is the old seed dying to give birth to a new life within you. The ritual of sacrifice and redeeming the firstborn points to letting go of old worship of appearance and investing attention in the birth of your true self. The token on hand and between the eyes is the discipline: keep your hands free to act in alignment with your new state, and keep your eyes focused on the realization, not the scene. When you realize you are delivered now by the I AM within, the imagined chains fall away and your world rearranges itself from that liberated center.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, repeat 'I am delivered now by the I AM within,' and imagine placing a symbolic token on your hand with a light between your eyes to seal the new state.
