Biblical Context
Esther is brought into the king's palace as the decree is enacted, amid the gathering of maidens for the royal purpose. It shows how an inner state is selected and prepared to reveal in consciousness.
Neville's Inner Vision
Esther 2:8 is not about a political move, but about your inner decree. The king's commandment symbolizes the I AM speaking within you, the one absolute I that permits a new scene to unfold. When you hear that decree, you gather many maidens—thoughts, habits, desires—and set them in the custody of Hegai, the keeper of the women, your inner administrator of faculties. Esther, the higher self or possible state, is brought into the king's house—the current consciousness of your awareness—by this inner command. The scene moves not by chance but by your inner obedience: you are chosen by your own assurance, welcomed into the palace of your experience. As you dwell in this inner palace, you let the inner king inspect and approve these maidens, which are now ready to serve the vision you hold. To practice this, you must return again and again to the feeling that the decree has already been issued and that the favored state is yours now; your outer life will rearrange to reflect that inner alignment.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Assume you are already in the king's palace and feel the favor as real. Revise any sense of lack by silently saying, The I AM has brought me into favor now.
