Biblical Context
Esther 2:1-17 recounts a post-Vashti renewal where maidens are gathered for purification, and Esther is brought before the king. By grace and favor, she becomes queen, while Mordecai watches over her, and the inner discipline of identity remains in play.
Neville's Inner Vision
After the storm of Vashti's decree, your awareness seeks a new queen—the state of you that can bear the king's favor. The gathering of maidens stands for the gathering of focused thoughts and feelings within the palace of your mind; purification with oil of myrrh and fragrant spices is the cleansing of old beliefs that dull your radiance. Esther's ascent is not by chance but a deliberate inner rearrangement: she is brought into the king's presence, given favor, and crowned because she remains true to her own nature while concealing nothing of her lineage until the appointed time. In Neville's light, the king is your I AM, the ruler of all scenes; when you align with that I AM, you are recognized, adored, and crowned by grace. The servants, Hegai, and the attendants symbolize the inner faculties you enlist to purify and prepare your consciousness. Esther's favor is the felt-sense of being desired by the king—your inner state responding to your own acceptance. Your transition from Vashti to Esther signifies moving from discord to sovereign order within, where the royal crown is the conscious acknowledgment that you are the one in authority.
