Inner Banquet of Law

Esther 1:7-8 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Esther 1 in context

Scripture Focus

7And they gave them drink in vessels of gold, (the vessels being diverse one from another,) and royal wine in abundance, according to the state of the king.
8And the drinking was according to the law; none did compel: for so the king had appointed to all the officers of his house, that they should do according to every man's pleasure.
Esther 1:7-8

Biblical Context

Esther 1:7-8 depicts a royal feast served in gold vessels with abundant wine. Drinking occurs under the king's law and none is forced, reinforcing the freedom within order.

Neville's Inner Vision

In the moment you turn to Esther 1:7-8, you are invited to see the banquet as your inner kingdom. The gold vessels are your distinct faculties, diverse as the vessels themselves, each one a facet of consciousness. The royal wine flowing in abundance is the riches of feeling and realization that arise when you align with the inner law. The law here is not an external edict but the settled order of your own consciousness—an inner command that cannot be forced on you, for each soul retains its own pleasure under the king of your heart. The officers of the house are your habitual thoughts and impulses; when you affirm the kingly fact of your being, they move to serve your pleasure instead of curtailing it. This is the Kingdom of God within: a sovereignty where you choose what to drink, what to feel, and what you allow into awareness. Practice seeing the scene as your inner state, and know you are the one who sets the law and reigns by imagining.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Close your eyes and see the gold vessels, the abundant wine, and the freedom of the inner law. Say I AM the law in my inner house; I reign in joy by which all officers serve my pleasure, and feel it real.
