Servants Of The Heart
Ephesians 6:6-8 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Ephesians 6 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Verse 6:6–8 teaches that service is to be done from the heart for the Lord, not simply to please people. It promises that any good work carried out in alignment with God's will will be rewarded by the Lord, regardless of one's social status.
Neville's Inner Vision
Notice that 'eyeservice' is not a crime but a misalignment of consciousness—your attention fixed on outward praise. When you declare yourself 'the servants of Christ,' you are naming the I AM as your innermost governor, the intelligent power moving through you. The will of God, then, is not a rule imposed from without but a law activated from within: you align your thoughts, feelings, and actions with that sacred state and everything you do becomes an act of worship. Serve with good will as to the Lord, for the Lord is the inner knower, the living principle that gives life to your every gesture. In this view, bondage or freedom ceases to define you; the true measure is whether your heart is in agreement with the divine request behind the task. By living as the expression of God's intention, you attract the same quality back to you—your circumstances reflect your inner state. The promise of reward is therefore not external payment, but the natural return of consciousness when you refuse to split your work from your devotion to the I AM.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Assume you are serving from the heart to the Lord in your daily work. Feel it real now by repeating, 'I am the I AM in this act' until a sense of quiet power settles within.
