Inner Covenant of Honor

Ephesians 6:2-3 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Ephesians 6 in context

Scripture Focus

2Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;
3That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.
Ephesians 6:2-3

Biblical Context

Honoring father and mother is shown as aligning with the inner authorities of your consciousness; this alignment carries a promise of well-being and long life in your earthly experience.

Neville's Inner Vision

Honor here is not a mere outward ritual, but a sacred recognition of the inner authorities that govern your life. The father represents order, the mother nourishment; together they are the two aspects of your I AM. When you acknowledge them as real, you acknowledge the law by which your world takes form. This is the first commandment with promise because you are aligning with the very energies that sustain your being. The moment you feel and assume you are already in right relation to these inner authorities, your health, your relations, and your days unfold in harmony. You do not seek resolution in a future event; you revise your sense of self to include the truth that you are one with the I AM that created you. The promise is the natural consequence of inner alignment: well-being, longevity, thriving in the earth of your experience. Now, make the mental move: stand in the I AM as both Father and Mother within, and let your life reflect that sacred order.

Practice This Now

Assume: 'I am in perfect harmony with my inner Father and Mother.' Then feel that alignment as life moving through you, right now.
