Inner Armor of Salvation
Ephesians 6:17 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Ephesians 6 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse presents two inner tools: a helmet of salvation for lasting awareness and a sword of the Spirit—the living word—for decisive inner decree. It invites you to assume the state now so these tools become your lived reality.
Neville's Inner Vision
Imagine you are not protected by armor on a battlefield far away, but you are already the consciousness that wears it. The helmet of salvation is your unshakable awareness that you are the I AM, the salvation that cannot be undone by fear or doubt. When you regard yourself as awakened, salvation becomes a way of knowing, not a distant future event. The sword of the Spirit is the word of God, but in Neville’s sense that word is your own creative decree voiced from your imagined state. Speak truth to your own heart until your spoken word aligns with the state you intend to inhabit. The verse asks you to take these tools, meaning claim and assume that you are already protected and empowered. In practice, you revise any limitation by returning to the feeling of your desired state, and you practice the imagination that this inner decree produces outcomes matching your inner state. Thus, your spiritual warfare is a battle won in belief, not by force outside of you.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, assume the I AM, and softly declare I am saved. Imagine the outer events bending to reflect your inner state.
