Shield Of Faith Within

Ephesians 6:16 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Ephesians 6 in context

Scripture Focus

16Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Ephesians 6:16

Biblical Context

The verse presents faith as a protective shield against the fiery darts of doubt and temptation. By standing in faith, you are empowered to quench what seeks to harm you.

Neville's Inner Vision

Remember that the 'fiery darts' are not cast from without but arise from within your own imagination. The shield of faith is a state of consciousness you wear by acceptance—that I AM here, now, and unassailable. When you affirm I AM as your central fact, the darts lose their heat because they meet the unshakable wall of awareness. The outer world mirrors this inner conviction; faith is not begging but recognizing your unity with the good you envision as already yours. So through daily practice, enter the scene in your mind where you stand surrounded by a luminous shield, and declare, I AM shielded, I AM protected by Providence, I AM the possibility your world cannot deny. Let thought be guided by the certainty of your I AM, and watch the imagined wall quench the imagined embers of fear. Your job is not to fight but to assume and feel the reality you desire, here and now.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and imagine a bright shield forming around you as a projection of I AM; revise any anxious thought by declaring 'I AM shielded' and dwell in the feeling of protection.
