Inner Armor for Standing Firm
Ephesians 6:11-13 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Ephesians 6 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage invites you to clothe yourself with God's armor so you can stand against unseen spiritual forces; the true battle is internal, not against people.
Neville's Inner Vision
To put on the whole armor of God is to assume the consciousness that you are one with the I AM, and that you are protected by truth. When you are aware of this, the wiles of the devil—the restless thoughts of fear, doubt, and lack—cannot penetrate your inner sanctuary. The warfare described is not with flesh and blood but with mental states: belief in separation, insecurity, and the pull of dark thoughts. The principalities and powers are the layered beliefs you have accepted about yourself; the rulers of the darkness are the bright but false notions you elevate above your true nature. The high places are the exalted ideas you mistake for supreme reality. In your imagination, don the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit—living words that proceed from consciousness. With this armor, you withstand any evil day and, having done all, stand in the undeniable fact of your unity with God.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the I AM as your armor; visualize a radiant shield surrounding you and feel the unshakable assurance of standing firm in God now.
