Inner Obedience Manifesto
Ephesians 6:1-2 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Ephesians 6 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Children are urged to obey their parents in the Lord, and to honor their father and mother; the passage ties righteous conduct to the earliest authority figures and promises a form of blessing.
Neville's Inner Vision
You are being asked to observe the order of your own life as it reflects the inner law. 'Children, obey your parents in the Lord' is not a distant command but a call to your present state of consciousness to settle into an order that mirrors the divine I AM. The 'Lord' is the awareness you are; the parents symbolize the first authorities that shaped your sense of self. When you honor them, you honor the origin of your own mind, aligning with the Imago Dei within. The 'first commandment with promise' becomes a lived experience of safety, continuity, and absolute belonging in your inner world, because you have restored proper alignment with the root of your being. As you live obediently to this inner order, your relationships and circumstances respond with harmony, and your mind receives the blessing of a coherent life under the law of your own consciousness.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Close your eyes and assume, 'I am in obedience to the inner order of my mind.' Dwell in that honoring feeling until it feels real.
