Biblical Context
Previously you identified with darkness; now you are light in the Lord. The call is to walk in that light, letting truth and goodness shape your life.
Neville's Inner Vision
Your text speaks not of outward rules but of a shift in consciousness. You were darkness, and that identification dissolved the moment you recall the I AM that you are. In the Lord you discover a light that is a constant state of awareness, not a momentary spark. To walk as children of light is to inhabit a renewed inner weather— a daily posture of seeing from wholeness, of choosing goodness, righteousness, and truth as your habitual tone. The fruit of the Spirit arises as you dwell in that settled assumption; you prove what is acceptable to the Lord by the quality of your inner vision and by the integrity of your choices. Reproof of darkness happens through attention, as light exposes what was hidden; the moment you expose it, it loses power. Awake thou that sleepest and arise from the dead are resonant calls to shift your entire sense of self, so that Christ within shines forth in every act. Thus you are a new creation, a renewal of mind where awareness itself is light and life flows from that awareness into form.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit quietly, close your eyes and declare I am the light of the Lord in me now, and feel the warmth filling the room. Persist in that feeling for five minutes, letting any restless thoughts fade and allowing the sense of illumination to guide every upcoming choice.
