Biblical Context
Paul's verses urge holiness by renouncing fornication, uncleanness, greed, and coarse speech. They also insist on gratitude as the proper posture of the saint.
Neville's Inner Vision
Beloved, all you call sin is but a misalignment of your state of consciousness. The verse is not a declaration of future punishment but a summons: you inhabit the kingdom only while you identify with I AM, the consciousness that you truly are. To be pure is to attend to the inner light, not to chase externals. When craving or coarse talk arises, revise your self-image: I AM the immaculate presence; I dwell now in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Gratitude is the key that seals this change, for gratitude acknowledges the reality of your divine I AM and dissolves the old picture. As you assume the feeling of being wholly clean, you cease to identify with unclean acts and you act from a center that reflects your true nature. The inheritance spoken of belongs to the one who knows himself as the I AM, for there is no rival to the inner kingdom when you stand in the truth of your own consciousness.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: In a quiet moment, assume, 'I am pure now.' Feel gratitude rising and revise any memory of impurity into a present scene of holiness within the kingdom.
