Inner Purity, Outer Living

Ephesians 5:3-4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Ephesians 5 in context

Scripture Focus

3But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
4Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
Ephesians 5:3-4

Biblical Context

Paul instructs that fornication, impurity, greed, and coarse talk have no place among saints. Instead, thanksgiving should fill speech and life.

Neville's Inner Vision

In Neville's reading, 'fornication' and 'uncleanness' symbolize inner states of desire and distraction your awareness has tolerated. The directive is not punishment but a revision of your inner weather: refuse to let such images take root and, instead, settle your attention on gratitude, which signals the I AM choosing a higher order. Your inner world is the stage on which reality is formed; thoughts become feelings, and feelings become conditions. If you claim you are grateful now, you shift your identity from a problem-bound self to a saint-created self—one whose speech and actions align with purity. The command to not name filthiness or foolish talk is a tuning of your consciousness to watchful reverence, while the practice of giving thanks acts as the wind that pushes away lower vibrations. In this light, holiness is a present possibility you assume, feel, and persist in until it manifests as your living state.

Practice This Now

Assume you are already pure and gratefully alive. Do this for a few minutes, feeling it-real in your body.
