Unified Love Within

Ephesians 5:28-30 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Ephesians 5 in context

Scripture Focus

28So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
29For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
30For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
Ephesians 5:28-30

Biblical Context

Love your wife as your own body; he who loves his wife loves himself. We are members of one body, parts of his flesh and bones.

Neville's Inner Vision

To the aware mind, these lines reveal that marriage is not an external contract but a shift in consciousness. The I AM that you are expresses love through another, so the wife is a mirrored facet of your inner state. The partnership becomes the living image of the unity of body and spirit. When we say we are members of his body, we acknowledge there is only one consciousness shaping appearances; nourishing and cherishing the spouse becomes feeding the entire self. The Church stands for harmony of thoughts and feelings within you, not a distant institution. If discord arises, treat it as misperception and revise the scene by assuming the unity you already are. Sit in the I AM, see through separation, and know that the beloved and you are the same flesh moving as one.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, breathe, and quietly affirm that you and your beloved are one flesh; feel nourishing your partner as you nourish yourself, and let that unity become your default.
