Biblical Context
Paul lists the gifts of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers as provisions for the body. In Neville's view, these are inner faculties of consciousness that express unity.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within the Neville frame, 'he gave' is not external offices handed to others but the I AM bestowing different states of consciousness within you. The church, then, is the unity of your awareness, and these roles are not separate people but faculties you can awaken as needed: an apostle for bold, purpose-driven action; a prophet who sees truth beyond appearances; an evangelist who stirs faith and shared vision; a pastor who tends to the inner climate; a teacher who clarifies understanding. Each office is a mode of consciousness that can be exercised in any moment to mature your inner kingdom and to witness it as the outer world. When you acknowledge that the One Self supplies these gifts, you stop seeking them outside and begin to act from the inner sovereignty of I AM. The variety of offices expresses the unity of your being—diverse expressions of the same consciousness, aligning your will, perception, and action toward a common mission of love and truth. Your daily tasks become a corroborating drama that reflects your assumed state, not the other way around.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and imagine you are now endowed with the needed office to meet a current need—teacher, prophet, or apostle—whichever supports your situation. Feel the I AM supporting the action, and notice the inner shift that precedes any outward change.
