Ephesians 1:13

Biblical Context

The verse describes hearing the truth, believing the gospel of salvation, and being sealed with the Holy Spirit of Promise.

Neville's Inner Vision

Brethren, the text says you trusted after hearing the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and then you were sealed with that holy Spirit of Promise. Notice, in Neville’s language, there is no distant event outside you; trust is a state of consciousness you cultivate. The 'word of truth' is the living principle within you, the gospel of your own liberation from lack and doubt. When you believe, you do not change the outer world; you enclose yourself in a new inner occupancy—the I AM that knows itself as the very substance of life. The 'holy Spirit of Promise' is not a future ideal, but your inner atmosphere, a seal set upon your consciousness, stabilizing it in security and grace. The Spirit witnesses to you that you are already saved—here and now—by your identification with that which you are. Your faith is the key; your assumption, the lock; your feeling-reality, the turning of the key. You are sealed in the awareness of your true nature.

Practice This Now

Imaginatively, assume the feeling of being sealed now. Sit in quiet and repeat: I am sealed with the Spirit of Promise, untouched by doubt.
