Joyful Union Within Vanity

Ecclesiastes 9:9 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Ecclesiastes 9 in context

Scripture Focus

9Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that is thy portion in this life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun.
Ecclesiastes 9:9

Biblical Context

The verse invites you to enjoy your relationship as your daily life under the sun. It presents joyful companionship as your portion and labor.

Neville's Inner Vision

Ecclesiastes whispers of a vanity-world, yet I, as the I AM, choose the joy that already lives in me. The wife thou lovest is not a history to fix but a symbol of harmony within consciousness. To live joyfully with her is to enter a state where affection, gratitude and companionship are my daily reality, not contingent upon fleeting conditions. When I dwell in that state, the sunlit life becomes my screen: every encounter, every labor, is colored by the joy imaged in the I AM. Vanity dissolves when attention is held on this inner relationship; the outer becomes a faithful echo of the inner assumption. The gift is given within consciousness; labor under the sun becomes labor of love, guided by delight and appreciation. I realize that my world mirrors the condition of my mind, and by choosing joy as my natural state, I claim the portion and the labor as one coherent expression of being.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Assume you are already in joyful companionship with the wife you love. Do this for a few minutes each day, feeling it real and letting your inner state inform every moment.
