Biblical Context
A small city is besieged by a mighty king. A poor but wise man delivers it with his wisdom, yet people forget him; wisdom is better than strength, but the wisdom is despised and not heard.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within the mind there is a little city that becomes besieged by a king of fear and outer trouble. The siege is felt as limitation, yet in the inner recess lies a poor wise man—the still, small voice of my I AM, the discernment that sees beyond appearances. He does not conquer by thunder but by a shift in consciousness: the realization that imagination creates reality and that the city is delivered when I assume the sensation that the outcome is already accomplished. The world may forget this inner sage, and often does, but its victory remains true: wisdom over strength, inward discernment over loud claims. When I recognize that I am the author of my experience, I release the need for proofs in the outer world and let the inner vision do the work. The deliverance comes through a revision of what is real in my consciousness: I am the one who imagines, I am the one who prevails, and hence the outer city becomes safe.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and revise: imagine the besieged city already delivered by the inner wise man; assume and feel that the city is saved, and hold that feeling for several breaths.
