Inner Presence and Discernment

Ecclesiastes 8:3 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Ecclesiastes 8 in context

Scripture Focus

3Be not hasty to go out of his sight: stand not in an evil thing; for he doeth whatsoever pleaseth him.
Ecclesiastes 8:3

Biblical Context

It counsels restraint: do not hurry to act before the divine presence, nor set yourself in negative states; align with the inner order of Life.

Neville's Inner Vision

Do not hurry away from the I AM that dwells within you, nor stand in a state you deem evil. Life itself expresses through the state you entertain. When you feel drawn to act from fear, greed, or anger, you are witnessing appearances—not the law. The line 'he doeth whatsoever pleaseth him' is the functioning of your own awareness when you are aligned with it, not a caprice of some distant ruler. Therefore the practice is inward: assume you are already in the presence of the I AM and revise any impulse that would move you into noise or limitation. By steadying your feeling that thoughts and events obey a harmonious intention, you allow the divine will to unfold as your lived experience. The outer world then becomes a mirror of your inner state, guiding you toward purity and integrity. In this sense, obedience is not to a person outside, but to the steady, loving consciousness that you truly are.

Practice This Now

Assume you are standing in the I AM now; revise any impulsive urge by feeling, 'I am in God’s presence, and this moment expresses His will.'
