Well With God: Inner Assurance

Ecclesiastes 8:12 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Ecclesiastes 8 in context

Scripture Focus

12Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him:
Ecclesiastes 8:12

Biblical Context

Sinners may prosper and live long, yet the passage asserts a different certainty for the God-fearing. Those who hold reverence before God can know that it will be well with them.

Neville's Inner Vision

Think of the verse as a whisper to the inner man, not a timetable for the outer world. The man of God does not measure life by the length of a day but by the quality of consciousness that inhabits the day. In the sunlit chamber of I AM, the appearances of a 'long life' for others do not threaten your peace, for you have chosen a state that cannot fade. The fear of God is the decision to dwell in the presence of the I AM, to let that divine awareness govern every course of action, mood, and expectation. When you say, 'It shall be well with me,' you are not appealing to chance; you are reaffirming your position in God. If the world shows otherwise—the sinner's apparent prosperity—you revise: 'I am the one who fears before Him; therefore, my life is in the equilibrium of His living presence.' The practice is simple: assume the state, feel it real, and remain there until the outer scene catches up. Imagination is indeed the garden where reality grows; tend it with the certainty that God is the governor and you are under His gracious rule.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Assume the state 'I am well, because I fear God' and feel that well-being in your chest; repeat until the sense of certainty is alive in you, regardless of external scenes.
