Biblical Context
Ecclesiastes 7:1-7 teaches that a good name outweighs wealth. Wisdom grows through mourning, restraint, and truthful rebuke rather than festive vanity.
Neville's Inner Vision
Where the text tells us that a good name is better than precious ointment, I hear the I AM naming you by your true feeling. The house of mourning becomes a sanctuary where the you you think yourself to be is dissolved and reimagined. In this inner space, sorrow is not punishment but a sharpening of awareness; the heart grows wise when the laugh of fools is tempered by the tears of honest seeing. The heart of the wise rests in contemplation, while the heart of fools runs after distraction. To hear rebuke is to hear the voice of truth, and in that listening the old self diminishes and the sovereign I AM awakens. Oppression can sting the surface, yet it cannot touch the fearless ruler within who knows that life is consciousness dreaming itself into form. Practice this now: assume a state in which you already wear a good name, a life of integrity, and feel the I AM within approve of every response to circumstance. Persist, and death-birth and sorrow become milestones on your inner path to wholeness.
Practice This Now
Assume the feeling of the I AM as your present reality and revise a memory of judgment by dwelling in the sense of a new, good name already spoken into you.
