Men and beasts share the same fate. All go to dust, and no earthly form holds real preeminence.
Neville's Inner Vision
Viewed through the inner eye, Ecclesiastes 3:18–20 is not a warning about others but a revelation about you. The estate of men and the beasts are two appearances of the same life you have called into form; God might manifest them to show you that you are the one who breathes, that your awareness alone births the scene of death and dust. The 'vanity' lies in the hypnotic belief that form has reality. When you rest in the I AM, the breath you share with all beings becomes unity rather than separation; there is no preeminence among forms because they are all denials of your final nature or are manifestations of your life. The spiritual truth is that the inner man, not the outer skin, is the proof of Imago Dei—the image of God within you. By insisting on the I AM as your immutable center, you revise the seen world into the seen-unseen, and life reorganizes itself to match your inner state.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Sit quietly, declare, I AM the unchanging life; feel yourself as pure awareness beyond form, and imagine the breath weaving all beings into one. Let this feeling of unity become your anchor until outward circumstances reflect your inner state.
