Biblical Context
Ecclesiastes 3:16-17 observes that judgment and righteousness coexist in the world, and that God will judge both the righteous and the wicked. It speaks of a time for every purpose and for every work.
Neville's Inner Vision
What you see as 'under the sun' is your own state of awareness. The 'place' of judgment and the 'place' of righteousness are inner dispositions, not distant sites; the verse tells you that God, the I AM within, will judge the states you inhabit—righteous and wicked—by the timing of your inner rhythm. The line 'there is a time for every purpose and for every work' is an invitation to align your consciousness with a single, eternal purpose. When you identify with a higher self, the conflicts you perceive dissolve, for you realize you are the conductor of both judge and judged. The outer world mirrors your inner decision; as you revise fear into trust, you experience the scene shifting to reflect the justice you hold as real. The key practice is to inhabit a state in which right action and discernment are already complete, so that even what seems chaotic is only the outer cadence of an inward order. So you become the judge not of others, but of your own states of mind, and you discover that time, purpose, and work unfold from within.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Close your eyes, settle into the I AM and declare, 'I am the clear, loving judge of my life.' Then revise a recent injustice by imagining you have already witnessed its resolution from this inner state.
