Read Ecclesiastes 2 in context

Scripture Focus

16For there is no remembrance of the wise more than of the fool for ever; seeing that which now is in the days to come shall all be forgotten. And how dieth the wise man? as the fool.
Ecclesiastes 2:16

Biblical Context

Ecclesiastes 2:16 says that the wise and the fool are forgotten, and that what exists now will be forgotten in days to come; even the wise die as the fool.

Neville's Inner Vision

This verse, from a Neville Goddard perspective, is a call to wakefulness. It shows that outward memory and worldly titles vanish with time, and that death treats the wise and the fool alike. The real you, however, is the I AM, the constant awareness that never dies. When you identify with a status—be it wisdom or folly—you cling to a passing form. Your true identity is the inner observer behind all names. Since imagination creates reality, you can choose a higher state here and now. Imagine yourself as the timeless I AM, and feel that presence until the old pattern loses its grip. As you dwell in that awareness, the judgments of wise or fool lose authority, and you begin to rewrite your world from the inside out.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, breathe slowly, and assume the state 'I AM the timeless observer.' Feel that presence as real in this moment and let the old labels of 'wise' or 'fool' fade away.
