Read Ecclesiastes 10 in context

Scripture Focus

4If the spirit of the ruler rise up against thee, leave not thy place; for yielding pacifieth great offences.
Ecclesiastes 10:4

Biblical Context

When the inner ruler opposes you, do not clash or leave your place physically. Instead, stay centered in your inner space to pacify the situation.

Neville's Inner Vision

Ecclesiastes presents the 'spirit of the ruler' as a momentary state of consciousness that governs your experience. If that ruling idea rises in opposition to your current state, you do not attack the outer world; you yield inside. You do not move your body, but you shift your feeling and assumption to the truth of your I AM. The 'place' is your present consciousness; remaining there requires acting as if you already know the truth that you are greater than the disturbance. Yielding pacifieth great offences because the energy that would ignite offense dissolves when met with a calmer, more powerful awareness. By choosing the inner sonship of I AM and imagining the desired harmony, you reset the movement of events. The external opposition is merely a signal; the work is to hold the victorious inner state until it becomes your experience.

Practice This Now

Assume right now that you are in the governor's quiet, inner space. Hold the feeling: I am the ruler of my inner state, and peace now floods the scene.
