Biblical Context
Ecclesiastes 10:20 warns against cursing rulers or the rich, even in thought, because speech travels and reveals the inner state. What you entertain in secrecy becomes outward circumstance.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within you the king sits, not in a throne of flesh, but as the I AM you are presently aware of. To curse the king or the rich in thought is to poison the inner atmosphere where decisions are born. The verse tells us that a bird of the air will carry the voice and that which has wings will tell the matter—meaning the unseen messenger of your own subconscious will translate your inner climate into outward events, revealing the state you dwell in. Therefore, the only true royal authority you need to obey is your own awakened imagination. If you dwell in suspicion or contempt, you are imagining a future ruled by lack and fear; if you bless, acknowledge, and assume the kingly power within, you invite a discipline that orders your days. Do not fight the outer; revise the inner. Assume the feeling that the king has returned to his throne within you now, and let that feeling of authority govern your thoughts and reactions. Imagination creates reality, and the king within is your I AM—unassailable, eternal, and cheerful. When you refuse to condemn, you release the voice that shames, and you become the designer of your world.
Practice This Now
Assume the inner king now. In quiet, revise any negative thought about authority into a blessing, and feel the reality of your I AM shaping events as a bird carries your new voice.
