Biblical Context
Ecclesiastes 1:9-11 speaks of cyclical patterns—no real novelty under the sun—and notes the fading memory of both past and future; it points to a measured, repeating rhythm of life and consciousness.
Neville's Inner Vision
All that you call history and repetition is a movement in your own consciousness. The thing that hath been is the state of awareness you once identified with; the thing that shall be is the next phase that this same inner state expresses. There is no external novelty outside your mind, for God—the I AM you awaken to—remains the unchanging observer behind all waves of experience. When you consent to a new life, you do not reach for something new apart from you; you renew the inner state that births it. By assuming a new identity—feeling that you are now, this moment, the one who has already received what you seek—you arrest the old cycle and invite the new condition to stand in your world. Your memory of former things can be reclaimed as the seed of a fresh expression, and the fear of what is to come dissolves in the certainty that you are the author of tomorrow. Practice this: rest in the I AM, and imagine the feeling of completion as if it is already true, and notice how the outer shows you your inner state.
Practice This Now
In a quiet moment, assume the state of your desired outcome as a present fact (feel it real); revise the belief that novelty must come from outside by repeating, 'I AM the source of all newness now.'
