The Intercessor Within
Deuteronomy 9:18-19 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Deuteronomy 9 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Moses prays and fasts before the LORD for the people, fearing His wrath. The LORD hearkens and grants mercy despite the people's sins.
Neville's Inner Vision
See the scene as your inner drama. The Moses in you stands in the LORD's presence—the I AM—on behalf of a mind that trembles at wrath. The forty days and nights are a disciplined focusing of attention, not a literal fast; you are fasting from the old story that you are separate from good. When you fear anger, you are acknowledging the old consciousness clinging to guilt. Yet the LORD hearkens unto me at that time also: your inner God answers when you shift into a new state of being. The intercessor within is your technique: you petition from the I AM as if forgiveness is already yours, not as a plea but as a statement of fact. Sit in quiet and repeat, 'I am the Lord hearing my own prayer; I am forgiven and held in mercy.' In truth, the external events you fear are only memories your mind repeats; when you assume the end, the inner response aligns with it. Your past is redeemed by the present conviction of your true nature.
Practice This Now
Imaginative_act: Sit quietly, close your eyes, and assume the state: 'I am the I AM; I am heard; I am forgiven.' Then feel that mercy right now as you breathe.
