Prosperity and the I AM Within
Deuteronomy 8:11-14 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Deuteronomy 8 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage cautions that when you prosper—having plenty of food, houses, wealth—you might forget the Lord who delivered you; keep His commandments.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within this verse, the land of plenty is not a place apart but a state of consciousness. When abundance multiplies—food, shelter, wealth—the true danger is not a loss of breath or body, but a lifting of the heart away from the I AM. God is not somewhere out there holding a tally; God is the I AM awareness that you are. To forget the Lord thy God is to forget the dimension of you that never changes, even as appearances change. The moment you identify with your possessions or your personal history, you have lent your power to a scene rather than to the actor who animates it. The cure is not zeal, but a practiced alignment: assume the presence of God as your governing principle, revise any sense of separation, and feel that you are already in covenant with the Source of all you are given. When you live from that inner certainty, prosperity becomes a sign of your obedience to the divine order within, not a lure away from it.
Practice This Now
Tonight, close your eyes, place your hand on your heart, and affirm, 'I AM the Lord my God here and now.' Feel the abundance as an expression of your inner awareness and let that feeling wash over every thought until it feels real.
